[1] Contents of fencing with the dusack and the order in which this type of fencing will be described
Chapter 1
After the foundation was laid previously in the [section on] fencing with the sword, the dusack now follows, which takes its origin from the sword as the correct source of all fencing (both that directed with one hand and that with two). Therefore, I want to place this here—not only because it is the most commonly-used [weapon] for us Germans (following the sword) but also because it is a beginning and foundation for all weapons that are used in one hand—and subsequently to explain and consider all of its circumstances and associated sequences in order.

Händen verricht wirdt: Will derhalben denselbigen, als der beii uns Teutschen

[2] While the dusack is closely related to the sword—so that the majority of sequences which are fenced with a sword used in two hands may also be fenced with a dusack in one hand with very little change—I still want to follow the same order here in the description of [the dusack] that I previously maintained for the sword. And therefore, because enough was reported previously in the Sword [Section] about the division of the opponent and how this is connected and about the division of the weapon, I will first take up the stances or guards and also discuss how many there are and how they should be directed in this work.

[3] Afterwards and secondly, I will set and treat the cuts and how they should be completed (in order).
Thirdly, I want to discuss the division of the opponent with respect to how the cuts currently under discussion should be directed (namely, about their usefulness and use), which I previously passed over in the Sword [Section] as being more appropriate here, so that nothing about this topic is omitted.

[4] Fourthly, I will append a necessarily-useful teaching and admonishment about counteractions and how one should use the cuts for three different purposes.
And lastly, after all of the necessary appropriate subjects have been dealt with regarding fencing with the dusack, I will consider one stance after the other, and how you should fully fence from the same or arrive into the same through cuts, and present them using several examples, and also describe how to correctly set the previously-taught techniques together so that a complete fencing sequence is constructed from them.

wie man die Häwe zu dreyerley nutz underschiedlichen gebrauchen solle, hinnan hencken, unnd
